Pulling into parking lot for Barnes & Noble (as Besh calls it, “the train store” due to the Thomas display in the kids section), we find an empty spot in front of Michael’s. They’re displaying scarecrows for Halloween.
Besh: “That’s a scary clown.”
Me: “It’s a scarecrow.”
“Oh. Like ‘Under The Rainbow.’”
“You mean ‘Over The Rainbow’?”
“Yeah. That’s a super super good song. I love it.”
“That is a good song.”
“But not the rest. I can’t watch it. It’s too scary.”
Which is true, as I’ve told him several times (we’ve watched the opening few minutes of Wizard of Oz, but I stop before the tornado). But then how did he know there’s a scarecrow in it?
